Certain keyless entry systems are cloud-based, allowing them to be managed remotely, and also offer more advanced features.
A keyless entry system can be installed in any residential or commercial property. The hardware must be placed at each entryway. The system will then need to be configured and controlled via a central console or through a smartphone application. Keyless entry systems in the global market is expected to expand at an annual rate of 11.8% between 2016 and 2022 according to Technavio. The market's expansion is attributed to a rising demand for security in commercial vehicles.
Many people are scared of being locked out of their homes So they keep spare keys in a secure place. To prevent this from happening, it's recommended to install an entry system with a keyless lock installed at your home. This will ensure that you don't get locked out again.
Transponder Chip
The transponder, also referred to as "chip key", is a micro-chip that is embedded in the head portion of your car keys. It's among the most important safety layers for your vehicle. The word "transponder" originates from the combination of responder and transmitter and responder. This is because when the key is put into the ignition and turned on, the antenna ring of your vehicle transmits a jolt of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds by sending its unique identification code to the antenna ring, and the car's computer can then decipher that information and determine if it is a valid key.
The key must be a transponder one to start the car. If it is not, then the vehicle will remain immobilized. The chip is protected with a special polycarbonate layer that blocks it from being copied or cloned with regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security offers an extensive selection of transponder key for a fraction of the cost of car dealers.
Transponder chips first began to become popular in the 1980's when GM introduced them in the Corvette. This technology drastically reduced the number of vehicle thefts, as hot-wiring was rendered obsolete. This is a brief explanation of how a chip key functions and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Immobiliser System
The engine immobiliser system (also known as the anti-theft system) is a key feature of your car's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside will send an encoded code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU examines whether the code transmitted by the chip is the one stored in it prior to it allows the engine to start.
The immobiliser in your car is designed to protect you from theft in this manner. If the code on the chip is not in sync the ECU will block the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system, preventing the engine from getting started. The immobiliser might also disable the starter motor or ignition coil in order to prevent the engine from getting initiated by force.
Unfortunately this system isn't completely secure. The code that unlocks the car's immobiliser could be hacked by thieves and used to open it. However, the newest versions of these systems come with a an extended cryptographic sequence that should be harder to determine.
Car immobilisers are mandatory from 1998, but a lot of cars had rudimentary immobilisers prior to that. It's worth noting that while an immobiliser makes it harder to steal a car it doesn't prevent thieves from towing away or breaking into the vehicle in order to steal your valuables.
Key Replacement
Losing a remote, key or fob could be costly and a hassle. A locksmith would need to gain access into the vehicle and decode or read the VIN and then reprogramme the new replacement to erase any signatures from the computer for all keys that were lost or stolen.
If your car is fitted with a security chip, also known as a transponder, which is in the key, this can make replacing it more expensive. The chips transmit an electronic signal to your car that confirms that you are the driver, and allow doors to be opened and the engine to be started. The cost of a replacement smart key is approximately $160.
